Optictelecom group and Fujikura Ltd. are introducing the 46S - new fiber optic splicer, simple analog of 86S hig-end model.
Like 86S, new 46S splicer is equipped with PAS system for core-to-core alignment of fibers and has the same splice speed and quality as it's "big brother". Meanwhile it has simplier carrying case, no screwdriver and alcohol pot, and CT08 fiber cleaver instead of CT50. 46S heater also differs from heater in 86S: the new one is simplier, slower and not so much automated. Some other automatic functions - splice mode selection, wind protector and clamps opening/closing - are absent in 46S, together with Bluetooth wireless interface.
New Fujikura 46S model is designed for those customers who want to have the highest quality and maximum speed of splice but has not enough budget to buy high-end model.
