Optictelecom group and Fujikura Ltd. introduce Fujikura 86S optical fiber fusion splicer, the new leader of famous Japaness manufacturer splicers family, which replaces former leader, 80S+.
Like all Fujikura splicers family leaders, new splicer is equipped with PAS precise core-to-core fiber alignment system for low splice loss and accurate loss estimation regardless of fiber type or quality. 86S has become more automated than it's predecessor: it is equipped with automated wind protector and heater lid, automatic opening of fiber clamps, splice mode selecting by fiber type analyzis, discharge power calibration, splice and heater autostart functions. Also it has fast and easy sleeve in heater positioning procedure.
New splicer supports wireless connection with other devices, e.g. with cleavers, which allows to check blade conditions and automatically rotate it. 86S has predownloaded video instruction manual in it's memory which can be watched directly on splicer's monitor.
There a lot of other benefits of this device, e.g. replacement of electrodes without tool and standard package including fiber optic stripper
