SIP-2 / O - SIP, combined with an optical cable

Introduction

SIP-2 / O is a self-supporting insulated wire (SIP) combined with an optical cable (OK). SIP-O is intended for connecting a subscriber to power (up to 1 kV) and telecommunication networks and parallel transmission of both electrical energy and information signals to it.

Key features

Simultaneous transmission of power and high quality communicationBranch off the electrical part without damaging the opticalUsing standard self-supporting insulated wire reinforcementUse of standard couplings OKReduced installation and operating costsImproving the aesthetics of urban transmission lines

Design

SIP-2 / O is a complete analogue of SIP-2, but also replaces SIP-4. SIP-2 / O has three phase conductive conductors made of aluminum and one zero carrying conductor made of aluminum alloy insulated from light-stabilized cross-linked polyethylene, as well as an optical cable in the form of twisting modules with fibers (from 2 to 144 pieces) around a fiberglass rod. All of the listed elements of the suite are in one bundle. The following standard sizes SIP-2 / O are produced: 3x1 + 1x25, 3x25 + 1x35, 3x35 + 1x50, 3x50 + 1x70, 3x70 + 1x95.

Conclusion

As follows from the table in the "Price comparison" section, the cost of SIP-2 / O exceeds the cost of a conventional SIP by an average of 2 times (by 100%): models with a smaller core diameter differ in price by about 2.24 times (by 124%) , models with a large core diameter - 1.76 times (76%).

In this case, to the price of SIP-2 / O, one should add the reinforcement used during the installation of the OK (these are optical couplings, clamps for lowering the OK along the support and baskets for storing its stock; at the same time, the rest of the tension and supporting reinforcement for the SIP-2 / O completely similar to that used for the installation of a conventional self-supporting insulated wire). The cost of additional reinforcement increases the price of SIP-2 / O by an average of 5%.

However, it should be remembered that sooner or later any subscriber will be connected to both the energy and telecommunication networks. If the connection to the telecommunications network is made separately from the connection to the energy network, then this will be accompanied by many problems.

If the connection to the telecommunications network is carried out by the method of underground laying OK, then the cost of materials in this case will be approximately equal to the difference in price between SIP-2 / O and ordinary SIP. But the cost of earthworks for such a laying of OK will always be much more expensive than the cost of work on hanging an OK or SIP. Plus, you need to remember about the relative complexity of the design, the need to allocate land for laying OK and compensation to land users for passing through their territory.

If the connection to the telecommunications network is carried out by the method of hanging the OK on the power transmission line supports (the same one on which the usual self-supporting insulated wire is hung), then the cost of materials in this case will be less (by about 15%) than the price difference between the self-supporting insulated wire-2 / About and the usual SIP. The cost of work on such a laying of OK will be comparable to the cost of work on the suspension of self-supporting insulated wire. But why first hang the self-supporting insulated wire (separately from the OK), and then the OK (separately from the self-supporting insulated wire), if you can hang them simultaneously (in the case of the self-supporting insulated wire-2 / O), saving on work twice? In addition, the dimensions of the power transmission line up to 1 kV do not always allow hanging a separate OK - the restrictions on the distance to the ground may not be respected (rather rigid in populated areas). In the case of the combined SIP-2 / O, the problem of dimensions does not exist.

Thus, SIP-2 / O is a technologically and economically viable solution worthy of the attention of both energy companies and telecom operators.
